"Varenna is a quite exensive place at Lake of Como.
Buying a boat ticket in Internet was not possible, therefore there was a huge line up to buy a tiket at the desk. That was a horible situation. "

"We choose the best town to stay in Lake Como, however the transportation is lacking and we walked with our cases downhill last Sunday after finding out there were no buses on Sundays! If it wasn’t for a gentleman called Adrien, stopping to give us a lift to the station, we don’t know what we would have done!! Taxis don’t want to work and Uber was not coming either! Completely stranded in Esino!!!"

"Perledo is located on a mountain near Lake Como, right above Varenna, which sits on the lake shore. Accommodation areas are accessed via a steep, winding road with no shoulders or sidewalks for pedestrians.
Although the flat where I stayed was only 1.6 km from Varenna, walking the route was very risky. Regular buses do not run frequently, and while the Municipality provides free van shuttle service at night, the drivers were rude and unhelpful to tourists. They demand the exact name of the stop, which is extremely difficult to find—it is not available on the website you are redirected to via the sign's QR code, and even AI assistance couldn't get it right after providing three different names.
Apart from the accommodation access issues and transport shortcomings, everything else was good."

"We loved Perlido. Our housing, the town, and everything about it. We hiked the Sentiero del Viadante from Vezio to Dervio, and it was incredible. I am recommending it to friends already! Grazie! "

"Perledo is beautiful and breathtaking. Transport is challenging and without a car or scooter it is hard to get around. The day buses are not frequent enough. The night bus is great but not very well organised. Some users got bad tempered about the priority of use. As an elderly couple we were very appreciative of the service it would have been dangerous for us to try to walk up from Varenna in the dark. "

"I rented a car in Milan so I didn’t use the public transportation. We took a private boat ride which was fantastic! My only complaint was the crowds of people but that is only because Perledo and Varenna are wonderful places!"
